That's not so old!

I recently had to upgrade to an expenside set of Tektro ultra long
reach calipers simply because the pads for my current brakes have been
out of production since 1982.

And I had to have my LBS modify the hub on a new sheel to fit the tiny
rear spacing. This is because my ancient shimano derailleur took 3-5
spokes with it when it grenaded.

That beibg said, I'd LOVE to own a slightly more modern but
classically designed steelie, so consider me incredibly jealous of
your bike.
