"Hoya has probably (we don't know this for a fact) said something about 
the image division not being very strong, because they have to go 
outside the company for electronics. This may be or may not be a signal 
that they intend to get rid of the division.

"But one very likely explanation is that they want to weaken Pentax 
before taking them over. There are probably negotiations going on. 
Basically they are speaking money. So making statements like this is the 
only reasonable thing to do at this stage of the process. Because Hoya 
wants a make a good deal."
