Same here Marnie, I have also been following the recent corporate news and this has stopped me somehow about being more serious on enablements. (I have also the DA70 in my wish list...)
I also would gladly wait for the K200D if there were any evidence of this happening in the near furure. I have the DS currently for sale on ebay. For me, the reason would be AS (anti-shake), which is a good enough reason. I am not that steady. Always amuses me how others turn their noses up at that reason. They must be very steady. K10D has been and remains beyond my price range, K100D looks worth it. But now I am waiting to see what happens with Pentax. Sounds like they may stay in business for a while, but I need to wait a bit and see. Good luck.
