Did a shoot like this recently. First set up, I used the FA28, had the folks on a small knoll, lightly overcast day. Framed the scene as tight as possible to eliminate distracting things. Made about 20 exposures in burst of three while orchestrating the gathering. Second set up was in the patio area of a restaurant, on the same day with even shade as the lighting. Used the DA21 and a high viewpoint to clean up the framing, made another 20 exposures. Several frames from each set up were good. Picking the best is up to the client. General rules: Keep the framing clean, fill the frame, get people close together, take several exposures in bursts.
