Everyone is still assuming that Hoya owns Tokina, based on my recent 
research the only connection's are the 1.) Tokina probably buys some 
Hoya blanks for grinding, 2.) Hoya and Tokina both have the same US 
distributor.  Other than that there seems to be no other public 
connection.  (They may have interlocking boards of directors, but since 
I can find no information on Tokina's board, in English, and I don't 
read or speak Japanese, I have no way of knowing).
