I carried mine on four trips so far where I didn't want to hassle the laptop along. It worked brilliantly. I've also used it occasionally to show a client some photos when a laptop or other display mechanism was somewhat inappropriate to the circumstances.
I usually get 10-13 GBytes worth of card storage downloads on a battery charge. Most of the time I'm well within reach of power so it is not an issue.
