We've had several BSE cases in Western Canada over the past couple of years, and if you think with the way our two country's beef industries are integrated you haven't had a few yourself, you are kidding yourself. The major difference between the way our ranchers differ from yours with the way they deal with downers is that your guys shoot em and bury them (the 3 Esses (shoot, shovel and shut up)), while our guys tend to be stupid and get caught. It was only in the last decade (after the major BSE incident in Britain) that feeding ruminant based feed back to cattle was outlawed.
