Hello Dario! Nice pictures.

I did try some of that in the past. I think that the biggest problem,
given you don't have any technical problem (as a photographer, I mean)
is that the planes are usually rather far and thus saturation of the
images is less then optimal.

Airshows are usually held in summer, though. If it were a nice december
morning the air would certainly be much clearer... but I'm sure you can
do something about it in digital postprocessing.

The other problem (of the same category) is that it's unlikely that
you'll be able to shoot any photo against a different background than
the sky, so the images end up being a bit dull and difficult to relate
to those incredible stunts you actually see. I mean, if you publish a
photo of an upside-down plane flying, there is not much difference if
you just flipped over the image of a normal trajectory...

When they're using smoke things are a bit easier because you can show
the trajectories. Last comment: there are some aerobatics in which they
all meet in the same spot (at different heights, of course...), if you
manage to shoot that, it looks quite funny/impressive (depending on your
opinion on such kind of things).

On this kind of things you don't want thing to become TOO interesting,
believe me...

Ciao, Flavio

This is the quite known (I think) Italian acro team:

Sure I'm not an expert plane shooter (this is in fact just the second
time
I've shot something like that in 20 years), but I like that gallery.
Anyone else? Do you see major mistakes to get rid of the next time?
Thanks
for commenting.
