FS: Pentax K version of Vivitar Series 1 28mm f/1.9 VMC lens. Original wide-angle hood by Vivitar is included.
Lens is in bargain condition by KEH standards, but still quite nice. Glass is very nice, no nicks/scratches, only a little minor dust between elements. Some definite wear to edges of aperture ring, and a nick here and there is visible on the outer edge of the focusing ring. Hood is also in bargain condition with some wear, but intact and threads are fine. Benefits of the f/1.9 lens, as opposed to the Vivitar 28mm f/2 lens, is that it is an actual Series 1 lens (dating to the late 1970s, I believe) and that it has the "floating" group of elements that kick in at close focusing distances to improve image rendition, sharpness across the frame. You can feel the floating elements engage at a point on the focusing ring, which is normal. Price: $75 including shipping in the continental U.S. Photos of the lens for sale: http://homepage.mac.com/wilensky/eBay/28_1.9_kit.jpg http://homepage.mac.com/wilensky/eBay/28_1.9_front.jpg http://homepage.mac.com/wilensky/eBay/28_1.9_side.jpg http://homepage.mac.com/wilensky/eBay/28_1.9_rear.jpg And here is a scan of a magazine ad for the lens (I probably got the image of the ad from a list member at some point, but can't remember who): http://homepage.mac.com/wilensky/eBay/v28f19ad.jpg Joe -- Joe Wilensky Managing Editor, Cornell Chronicle The Cornell Chronicle * The Cornell Chronicle (weekly) * Chronicle Online (daily) * Cornell Chronicle Magazine * Cornell e-News * Chronicle e-mail lists 312 College Ave. Ithaca, NY 14850 [EMAIL PROTECTED] (607) 255-3630 phone/voice mail (607) 255-5373 fax http://www.news.cornell.edu/ To subscribe to one of our e-mail lists, go to http://www.news.cornell.edu/subscribe.shtml -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
