Regardless of the rationale Frank, you've shot and posted a flower pic. I've done it as well since I started shooting digital. I'm not making a critical judgement, just an observation - and people are doing it because it's so easy to do, and because flowers may be nice to photograph, and because they have nice colors, and perhaps because the digi works in color rather than B&W.
