Konica gave up on cameras a couple of decades ago, choosing instead to 
concentrate on sensitized products and machinery. Minolta just didn't seem 
interested in digital at all. I wonder if they thought it was a flash in the 
pan phenomonen. Minolta was also a big player in office equipemnt and the 
like.
Every company is different, what is important to one, may not be important 
to another.
You Americans, especially, seem to think that corporations are comprised of 
dollar bills.
They aren't, they are comprised of people.
