yes, I mounted lens on the camera to check,
these mamiya SX lenses ( excellent optically )
have big outer aperture rings near the flange
and this ring is in the spot where the
pin hole would need to drilled so it wont
work because it wouldnt lock or the aperture
ring wouldnt be able to be turned once mounted.

        Have you mounted it on the camera to make sure?  If you're 
comparing it to a K lens, they tend to have a slot rather than a hole. 
That slot is typically longer than it needs to be.

        I've done this on about a half-dozen lenses.  First thing I do 
with my M42/K adapters is remove the damn clippy thing.  If you can't 
drill the hole, you just have to be careful to not dismount the bayonet 
while focussing... :)
