Roman, my limited lenses have Pentax SMC UV protective filters on them at all times. I notice no deterioration of image quality but I feel slightly better having invested *a lot* of money into these three lenses.
My other lenses are protected by Pentax UV protective filters (probably not SMC coated). Some lenses, notably cheaper zooms are not protected at all. Finally, my Tamron 28-75/2.8 zoom came with B+W MRC coated UV protective filter. All of the above filters are excellent, though on some extremely rare occasions they cause flare. HTH.
