Thanks Christian. I guess we learn something everyday! I am not an ardent birder and we have always called them cormorants around here, but I am sure there are folks who know the difference. I shot some pics several years ago of a fight between a Blue Heron and a Cormorant (It had the hooked bill). I have to give the Cormorant his due, as he stood his ground against a much larger bird and won. At least the Heron was the one who retreated and went under a tree branch and sulked!
