Reading the review link, it also seems Phil had a pre camera, so i;m sure they used comments to help in the fine tune of the camera.
The Nikon forums i subscibe to all have doom and gloom threads for every new camera they bring out. Other than the disasterous D2H i bought, m,y D1, D1H and D200 are fantastic cameras. My instore testing of my K10D convinced me to buy, yet another, Dslr. Lord keep my SO out of the basement tonight. Cripes. Lighten up its a camera for F sakes.
