The Vincent Rapide and Black Shadow had the most beautiful twin motors ever.

Hunter S. Thompson wrote a little vignette about riding a Vincent down
Highway 1 south of San Francisco.  I used to ride 1 all the time (my
girlfriend lived on Clement St. and I lived in Sunnyvale, so that passage
always captured my imagination.  My Honda VFR800 Interceptor was much faster
and infinitely better-handling than a Black Shadow, but something about the
Black Shadow is a magnet for me....

T.E. Lawrence (AKA Lawrence of Arabia) died riding a Brough Superior.
