Godfrey,

I see where you're coming from.  I guess I like to use tools,
but I also like them for their own sake as well.  For example,
I'm still really happy with my Ds because I know it, I am comfortable
with it, and I like the image quality that I get.  The Ds doesn't
scratch the "classic camera" itch for me, though. 

The LX is a true classic (I purchased mine used way back in 2000
or so).  I would love to have a digital body with the LX
feel to put behind my limited lenses....

Until then, I'll probably keep using my Ds....
