Exactly.
I am picking up my copy of K10D today but a lot of people might share the
same sentiment.  10mp is definitely necessary for some tasks (Paul Stenquist
etc) but for amateur hobbyists, however experienced they might be, who do
not make a living by photography, would not wish to sacrifice anything
including price just because of 10mp.  I am appalled at 10mp P&S now
cropping up in the market.
