The camera reviews on DP Review baffle me. They obviously put a *lot* 
of time and effort into these reviews... and shoot themselves in the 
foot by using different lenses on cameras that are being compared! Why 
bother with the extensive testing, then?

It's not as if there aren't several excellent third-party lenses that 
are available in all the major mounts. I suppose the noise tests are 
not lens-dependent, and so might still have some validity, but as it 
stands you can only do meaningful comparisons of image quality when 
comparing Nikon to Nikon, Canon to Canon, Pentax to Pentax, etc. And 
even then they don't always use the same lens. Seems meaningless to me. 
No wonder DP Review attracts such mindless pixel peepers.
