I rarely use anything longer than 135mm, but for those unusual occasions when i need longer I have both a 2x-S rear converter (270mm f/5.6 with the 135) and an F100-300/4.5-5.6 that fill in. The latter is pretty crappy wide open but stopped down two/three stops performs very well.
The 135+2x-S does very well at f/8-f/11.
