Peter, Automation is defeating you from getting to F1.4 on the lens. To Perry's point, the MTF thinks F1.4 is 'not so sharp' so it goes ahead and changes the ISO to help you. I just had the revelation trying to make Share Reduction kick-in. Shooting at 1/45th and wide open at F5.6, I changed the aperture to F11 - still 1/45th, then to F13 - still 1/45th. Then, I noticed the ISO of the shots I took had changed. The camera tried to help me out! (OK actually, once you know that's what it is doing.) Regards, Bob S.
