Boris. If you don't want a DA, and tou don't want to go the F route again, you may have to live with the limitation of a A lens.
But I don't think using a A with SR it will be a big issue. If you dial in 70mm when mounting the lens, SR will work optimum at the close end, and be a bit less effective at the long end. But SR will work. I believe it is best to dial in the lowest value, because I think SR will overcompensate when you dial in a higher value than the focal length you are actually using. If you otherwise like the A 70-210/4, simply go for it. Work with the limitations, not against them. Think of it as a Focal Length Simulator, get over it ;-) Just my 0,02 NKR. I often do not manage to resist similar urge myself. By the way, you don't have to smack yourself, really. Well, given the information Dave and you (or does it have to be "you and Dave"?) provided A 70-210 is out of the question. I thought I might hmm convince myself to use it in spite of its weight and lack of AF, but now... Since I have preliminary permission to shell out for K10D I seem to have to avoid older lenses... -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
