My trip to SW was not really a vacation and not really about photography, but
I got about three to four days (two at Yosemite) of shooting.

This was taken on a side trip to White Sands New Mexico. I was shooting the
dunes and turned around and found this going on.

Took me a while to get to a good vantage point, and by then the moon was
starting to get away.

So not totally successful.

I darkened the grass in the foreground a tad, because I found it distracting.
(Can't crop more than I already have or I'd lose too much).

And if I was making this more a graphic, I think I'd add a tinge of color to
the grass, in fact. Just not sure what color. Overall the colors were subtle.

The flat plan with colorful ridge poking up is very typical of New Mexico.
