I don't understand this fuss about such minor thing. Leica users either: 1. collect cameras for resale them later or 2. use black and white and don't care about other colors at all. Infra red sensitivity may be even welcomed by them as added bonus. IMHO Leica should point it out as a feature, not a bug.
