The sense I have is that everyone who has seen or used the K10D thinks
its a pretty durned good piece of work.

-----

Well, you need to cruise over to dpreview to see some of the problems
people are reporting. I understand that there are also K10D problems
reported at Fred Miranda's site, but I don't know how to find
them--there doesn't seem to be a Pentax-specific forum.

Believe it or not, gang, this isn't a complaint coming from me. So
please don't flame me. My K10D doesn't arrive until next Wednesday, and
I sincerely hope that it does not display the banding, mottling, and
misfocusing problems that some people are reporting. Yes, I've expressed
concern about the sensor and some aspects of the design, but I do want
this to be a good camera. I plan for it to be my workhorse.

Some of the problems can perhaps be discounted as coming from newcomers.
But a couple of long-time photographers have reported focusing problems,
especially with the DA 21. There are high ISO images showing banding,
but other makes and/or sensors may have the same problem. I don't know
if the banding that people have shown is less or more than the banding
that the D200 showed when it was first introduced.

I've just posted a message at dpreview asking people to make sure they
are using the central autofocus sensor before they report focusing
problems. I don't know yet what the reaction will be. I may get flamed.
One gets used to it.
