:-) I hope not!

Google, Yahoo... those bastards aren't going anywhere. It's all about
the advertising these days. AOL figures they can go from a
subscription-based service (peak ~30million subscribers, each paying
~$20/month) to an ad-revenue based "content" company. Revenue has gone
up every quarter despite the loss of paying customers (we are asking
them to cancel the subscription, while allowing them to keep their email
addresses/screen names). WE just got a new CEO, some guy named Falco
(Rock me, Amadeus) from NBC... let's see if his advertising genius can
really put us out there. The thing is, AOL has the products/features
AND the delivery system...

Sure, in the 2.5 years I've worked for the company, I've seen several
thousand job reductions. Many were parts of the company that were sold
off so there was no net job loss for the actual employees. Many others
are house cleaning of the deadwood. I have not seen quality employees
laid off.

No. :-) We are actually doing quite well.
