I've got an SV and compared to the *istDS can you say 'shutter lag' !!!
And how many RAW pictures have you taken with the SV?

Welcome.  Nice use of the palm frawn in the first shot.
You could get closer to the blooming flowers in the 2nd shot,
and I wish they fell into the bright patches of light.
