Good software, excellent community, no stupid restrictions on EXIF info 
(A la photo.net), and the owner isn't a bigoted jerk (a la photo.net) 
and it permits very simple embedding of images on other pages, even 
gives you the HTML.

I always provide a direct link as well, for people who don't like 
flickr. But I've yet to see a good reason why people don't like it apart 
from dislike for the interface.
