WR, are you saying that he 35mm lens has the exact same ease of focusing as the 105 lens on the its with both at F8 focusing? I don't believe it for both technical and experience reasons, you can say it all you want but I don't just believe it one bit. You may try to defend your point in saying that since I haven't tried it I don't/cant know, but with many many years of cameras and lenses, I have never found that type of behavior from any of my lenses or finders, 35mm. large format, medium format etc. A three to one ratio on the focal length just makes for too big of a DOF difference not to notice the focusing differences. The longer lens simply snaps in and out of focus much more than the shorter lens which makes it easier to focus accurately/critically. I am not talking about the ability to focus each accurately, I am talking about the ease to focus each accurately.

I was surprised myself, I wasn't expecting to repeat Shel's observations. I wasn't able to repeat it with my LX, MX or ME Super. I do have one of the accessory screens in my istD, though I don't know if it has a different tooth compared to the stock screen.
