I had my doubts when it was only Olympus producing cameras. But with Panasonic releasing their DMC-L1 and the almost inevitable Leica branded version to come, and the fact that Leica is designing lenses for the format, I wouldn't count it as a goner. If you haven't played with an L1 yet, you should take a look. It's a trifle bulky with the kit lens, but the controls and handling are really very nice. The viewfinder is, charitably, a bit dimmer than I'd prefer. But I suspect that if I were to use one, I would rapidly become accustomed to it. An L1, standard lens and the Oly 11-22 lens would make a pretty compelling, fairly complete photographic kit.
