On my first roll thru my Spotmatic, in the late 60's, I suspected something 
amiss when I kept advancing the film way beyond 36. I had not verified the 
film was locked well onto the take up reel.
Glad it happened, taught me to always check the take up, and I never did 
that again in hundreds of rolls of film that I've shot over the years.
