Maybe also if this is retail value. It is indeed in terms of number of units sold. Actual breakdown of top 6 goes like this. 1. Canon EOS Kiss Digital X Black Lens Kit 12.5% 2. Canon EOS Kiss Digital X Black Double Zoom Lens Kit 12.5% 3. Canon EOS Kiss Digital X Black Body only 9.4% 4. Nikon D70s Lens Kit 9.1% 5. Nikon D80 AF18-135G Lens kit 5.8% 6. Nikon D80 Body only 5.3% Pentax K100D Lens Kit is actually 8th. Article does not show any other model. 8th K100D happened to be shown as one of the recommended models. What's interesting is "Others" show as 0.1% share. Pana's Lumix etc must be included there. What this shows is an overwhelming sales of entry level cameras, and Canon's Digital Rebel (Kiss in Japan, strange naming, but then *ist was even stranger) is dominating in this area. So, the DSLR market is still expanding. Interestingly, Nikon's true counterpart of DigiRebel, D50 is not on top 6. Nikon's models are rather one notch above DigiRebel and these start showing up only after the DigiRebel juggernaut. K100D is no DigiRebel either. After this, there must be Sony's Alpha100 and some oly's somewhere, or maybe Pentax's Ds or DL etc somewhere. But all in all, DigiRebel's sweep of entry market, which is the largest one, may still continue.
