We didn't have much of a problem leaving Athens for the US. There were about three layers of security, ending with a thorough hand-check of all hand baggage at the gate. They were very strict about the no liquids rule, although Nate and I were able to bring little bottles of contact lens solution on board with us. Nate got his cameras examined, but the security agent couldn't figure out how to get into the bottom section of my camera backpack, where the cameras were, so he just felt around the outside of the bag and let me through.
Leaving the US, an agent tried to give me grief about bringing a 4oz bottle of contact lens solution with me (you can't get saline or multipurpose solution in bottles smaller than 4oz, as far as I know) but I knew that contact lens solutions were exempt from the 3oz rule, which the agent found out from her boss. But the cameras weren't examined at all at JFK. Amita -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
