True ... and I've used a few when need be. But they can be spendy and sometimes hard to come by. The supermarket approach is a lot less expensive. However, the bottom line is that there are numerous alternatives to the more typically used lens cap. BTW, even Pentax made some slip on caps a while back, although I've only seen them for lenses that took 49-mm and 52-mm lenses.
