I don't know how JCO uses his lenses if he's wearing out the focusing  
rings. I have a lens or two still from my Nikon days that I bought  
used in 1981. They were used to make many thousands of pictures for  
twenty years in my hands. The rubberized focusing rings still look  
like they're brand new.

So we can add to the Whack-A-Mole's ineptness the fact that he abuses  
these obsolete lenses. "You only hurt the ones you love ..." and all  
that, I guess.
