Speaking for myself only, and being a die hard manual camera/K-mount user,
I was pleasantly surprised at how much more enjoyable photography had
become once I started using the A series and later lenses. I still love
the old glass for their optical qualities but I like the newer glass as
well. That I can use the older glass on the DSLR body is a bonus as far as
I'm concerned. The lack of the aperture thingy is of little consequence to
me as I enjoy using the older lenses in "manual mode," which allows me some
of the pleasures that are found in using older cameras, but I can move up
incrementally into more modern lenses and more modern ways of using the
camera. For me, this is great ... ;-))
