Probably the best research you can do will be to buy some APS films  
and take them apart carefully. The film is thin and pliable but with  
a strong base. You can get the measurements from the film as well as  
appropriate end and lead shapes, make a template so you can make your  
own.

One of the joys of playing with Minox and Minolta 16 cameras is the  
simplicity ... film reloads for these are basically a simple slit,  
cut and roll operation. APS format is more complex to work with, but  
anything can be done if you have a mind to. ;-)
