Ann,

I suppose that is what I am saying, you can make it do things the way
you want it done. The pop ups I have are very small and don't get in
the way. They come up and last just long enough to read, and go away.
About 1 second or so. I think it is quite nice to be able to listen to
say, Beethoven or NPR's Fresh Air while reading email. Recently I have
been leaving the tunes that signal email off for this reason. I also
installed a running clock that tells me how long I have been on the
internet, weather updates in the toolbar, and so on. There are a lot of
options/add ons. In Thunderbird, I have an electronics post-it notes so
that I can remind myself of why I am archiving a certain email.

I believe I heard today that IE is being updated to include tab browsing
- gee, Firefox has had that for years. Nothing like taking from the
best, a Microsoft tradition.
