Bob, I play 6-30 times a year. As much as I can, but have other priorities. I find that the poor ball, sitting there unprotected while you take your time to smash it with an ugly piece of metal, is actually using the time to scheme its revenge. On being launched, the ball will momentarily rise gracefully in the direction intended, then dart suddenly and with no apparent reason toward the nearest water/sand/dense vegetation.
