I think your pictures look real nice Boris.  My daughter was in theatre, 
so my K50mm 1.2 was my best friend.  But unless you are sitting in the 
front row, it could be kind of wide.  The FA85 1.4 is another very 
useful tool for this.  Of course ISO 800 and 1600 come in real handy. 
The biggest problem was that I could not take a tripod into the theatre 
and the monopod could be kind of clumsy to use in the seats.  So the 
result was that I would occasionally get blur from me shaking, the 
shutter speeds are usually fast enough so that you dont get too much 
blur from the motion on stage. Now I have the K100D, and the SR is 
amazing.  I think this is going to pair real well with the fast lenses. 
  This is something Canon does not offer.  The other thing to watch out 
for is metering, stages have a huge range of ligthing, from very dark 
backgrounds to quite bright areas where the spotlights hit, such as the 
performers.  I would try to spot meter on the faces of the performers, 
this usually worked pretty well, but the shadows do suffer.
