I've got a 1510 which I bought for precisiely that purpose (assuming I'm not taking the monster zoom; then I use my 1620). It does fit in the overhead bins (albeit with not much to spare), but not under the seats. That can be a problem; the sizing box at the check-in lines matches the under-seat capacity. On the few occasions I've flown with it, though, nobody has insisted on the more restrictive limits. I'm sure that if I did have to check it it would provide more than enough protection - the 1620 is looking a little scuffed by now, but nothing inside it hasd ever suffered ill effects. > Secondarily, also looking for a case maybe two thirds the size of the > 1510, same application but less equipment. If I were buying something new I wouldn't bother looking at anything other than a Pelican unless there were none suitable. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
