Number of shades of gray, that's all. Smoother
Transitions in shading. You can design an 8bit system
To cover the same dynamic range as a 16bit system, its

To only being 254 of them compared to 16bits, (approx

At least with the K/M nonsense it all comes down to opinion.  Here
there are facts.  Although I never saw facts getting in the way of his
babble before so why I am surprised now?
