Canon.  It's usable but I only have 1 lens to use with it and it is not 
a go-to focal length for me (i.e. not over 300mm).

The point is there are a lot of NOs and NEVERs and CAN'Ts, when the 
truth is that it CAN be done.  It was a concession to the screwed FD 
users when the EF mount came out.  Trust me, I'm with you on the Canon 
FD thing.  Those users were left with nothing.  They HAD to buy all new 
lenses if they wanted to go AF.  Pentax and Nikon users could adapt slowly.
