I'm begining to feel like JCO, ranting on about a single topic, but...

Please don't fall for the marketing speak.  There aren't 22 bits of
data to be captured - the device is capturing 12 (or, generously, 15)
bits of data, and adding 10 (or 7) bits made up from whole cloth.
