I got into Pentax K ( previously only had scremounts ) Around 1990. I did not need or want AF because I don't like The way they feel for MF and I prefer MF for what I do. ( I don't do sports or any fast moving stuff ). Hence, the only thing available that meet my criterion Was used. So no I did not buy any K/M lenses new because That was before my time, but it doesn't mean that's not What I like and wanted.
