No one will grow or learn without honest and meaningful commentary about their work. Comments like you and others frequently post - "It doesn't do anything for me." are essentially as worthless as "I like it" as far as a criticism goes. WHY do you like it, or WHY doesn't a photo do something for you.
I just don't agree with you. Shel ======= Actually, I was agreeing with you that you didn't call it crap. I said that RW has called things crap in the past. I think I was directing my comments about that more elsewhere, Shel, and you read a lot into them. You might reread what I said. You might not. I do try when I can, usually I can't, to be specific about why something doesn't work for me. It's when people say something is crap, or trite, or boring without any much other feedback, that I think it's just unkind and unhelpful. Or more than unkind. Whether a criticism is harsh or not, well, that will depend a lot on who is receiving it and whether they think it was warranted. Your criticism of John's photo was too harsh for me, but not evidentially for him. Chill, Shel, we are more in agreement than not. :-) Marnie aka Doe -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
