There is a grand total of 1 (one) known virus for OSX. And even then,
propagation is VERY limited.
Thanks to the separation of admin functions from normal user
functions, it is difficult for a virus to propagate itself, or to
compromise your system to the point of failure.

On the windows side, windows is windows. You'll still need your
antivirus program running, and you'll need to stay on top of the
windows updates. OSX has its own update mechanism as well, and it's
much nicer than the Windows updates.
