Hmm ... never saw Marnie's original post: Right now, using the latest firmware upgrade, all Pentax DSLR cameras can use 4GB SDHC compliant cards. With just a few exceptions, the 4GB SD card is the largest available - certainly the largest readily available. Just a few months ago one or two companies (Pretech is one, I believe) announced an 8GB SD card. I'm sure the K10D will be able to use 4GB cards, but, if not, a firmware upgrade will probably follow close behind.
More important in some regards is the speed of the card. Dave's 52X card is really too slow for the Pentax. Even the early istDS can take advantage of an 80X card (based on tests that Godders and I did and posted to the list some time ago). Based on current information, the K10D should be using 133x - 150X cards, and, although I'm guessing, the K100D might be able to take advantage of the faster card as well. Were I to buy a K10D right now, I'd start with a 2GB 150X card, and an appropriately fast reader. Later, when there are more SDHC 4GB cards available, and a choice of good readers, I'd upgrade the reader and add 4GB cards as needed. But for now, and the near future, the 2GB cards are the safe and sure way to go, both in terms of price, brand selection, and available card readers.
