Cant you read my posts? Canon did not "simply bail on their base" Like you claim because they introduced a new mount that had NEW features IMPOSSIBLE with the old FD mount. Pentax has not introduced any new Features on their mount or even changed there mount OTHER THAN Crippling K/M. this is a support issue, CANON EOS and MINOLTA MAXXUM Were compatability issues with NEW AND IMPROVED mounts. Canon had to change mounts, but anyone who bought new FD glass just before the EOS system was introduced could not buy a new camera body from anyone that would support their glass within a couple of years.
