Since I'm researching Pentax 6x7s at the moment hoping to buy one...I've read the user manual I found on the web. Apparently if you try to take a shot when the battery hasn't got enough juice left, that can happen. Replace the battery and press the mirror reset button, on the front of the camera, to the right of the lens mount below the shutter release (roughly). This should reset the mirror and spring the shutter, resulting in one wasted frame. Hopefully it is as simple as a dead battery.
